Issue

  • Status check on an fs resource part of an active, running service failed with "Could not match with a real device"
Oct 17 02:14:57 node1 rgmanager[14560]: [fs] start_filesystem: Could not match /dev/myVG/myLV with a real device
Oct 17 02:14:57 node1 rgmanager[3373]: status on fs "myLV-fs" returned 7 (unspecified)
Oct 17 02:14:57 node1 rgmanager[3373]: Stopping service service:SAP_XEP
  • Cluster resource restarted due to filesystem error

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 6) with the High Availability Add On
  • rgmanager
  • Failure occurs during a status check of an fs, clusterfs, or netfs resource
    • There is a similar solution for this error occurring during start/stop operations of these resources
