ptp4l grand master down with error timed out while polling for tx timestamp

Issue

  • PTP fails and logs shows following messages:-
Dec 23 11:18:02 Server1 ptp4l: [274593.299] increasing tx_timestamp_timeout may correct this issue, but it is likely caused by a driver bug
Dec 23 11:18:02 Server1 ptp4l: [274593.299] port 1: send sync failed 
Dec 23 11:18:02 Server1 ptp4l: [274593.299] port 1: GRAND_MASTER to FAULTY on FAULT_DETECTED (FT_UNSPECIFIED) <- dead 
Dec 23 11:18:02 Server1 phc2sys: [274593.594] sys offset -491 s2 freq -282 delay 15817
