Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 installation failed to start when auto6 is used in network configuration

Issue

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.2 has some regressions on installer side as this is working fine with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.1.
  • The installer is unable to start and it just starts the dracut console.
  • Using auto6 network configuration method.
  • In kickstart:
network --device=<macaddress> --ipv6=auto
  • In boot parameter:
ks=file:/ks.cfg geoloc=0 hpsa_monitoring_agent=1 ifname=mynetdev:<macaddress> bootdev=mynetdev ip=mynetdev:auto6 nameserver=<ipv6 address>
