Apache HTTPD with mod_cluster and an application with a root context causes conflict with Shibboleth in Apache

Issue

When enabling and deploying a new WAR as the root context "/" in JBoss and when running behind a web tier configured with Apache mod_cluster and Shibboleth causes a conflict with Shibboleth URLs ( e.g. /Shibboleth.sso ). Once the root context is enabled it looks like Shibboleth requests are being forwarded to JBoss instead of to Shibboleth.
