Apache 2.4 mod_cache with disk cache is not working on RHEL7

Issue

  • The caching with mod_cache does not work for the following configuration:
CacheRoot "/etc/httpd/cacheroot"
CacheEnable disk /
CacheDirLevels 3
CacheDirLength 5
CacheIgnoreCacheControl On
CacheIgnoreNoLastMod On
CacheIgnoreQueryString On
  • mod_cache does not work when I use a protocol in the url string. For example:
CacheEnable  disk  http://www.example.org/
CacheEnable  disk  http://

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
  • httpd 2.4
