Unable to mount NFS storage from EMC

Solution In Progress - Updated -

Issue

  • Not able to mount an existing NFS share created on `EMC1 to a new RHEL 5.5 Virtual Machine.

  • The nfs share is already mounted on an existing RHEL 5.3 machine with read/write permissions. It is also mounted on other RHEL 5.3 machines with read only permission.

  • The required configuration changes have been made to the EMC NFS configuration page such as adding the new host to the list of read/write hosts and root hosts as well.

  • The new server is on the same zone as the existing server and the firewall has been disabled as well. Changing the SELINUX value has no effect on the output and is now currently set to permissive on the new machine.

  • This is observed on the new RHEL build (5.5) - a new virtual machine created on a VMware ESXi Host.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
  • NFS
  • EMC Storage
