How to make the NFS mount disconnect by itself in seconds when the NFS server dies ?
Issue
- It is known that when a NFS share is mount on a system, when the NFS server is hung and user try to access the share, it may cause system unresponsive.
-
Could you please explain behavior of
autofs
in this case?- If share is mount but user is not currently accessing the share.
- If share is mount and user is currently accessing the share.
-
Is there any measure to lower the risk of using autofs to mount NFS?
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, 7, 8, 9
- NFS
