BlockDeviceDriver does not work as documented.

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • The BlockDeviceDriver for Openstack Cinder is supposed to create a direct connection to the local disks if the instance and the disk are on the same physical servers. As described here https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/BlockDeviceDriver
  • However, it actually makes an iSCSI connection even when the instance and disk are on the same node.
  • When BlockDeviceDriver will be included in RHOS ?

Environment

  • Red Hat Open Stack
  • cinder
