Why does Veritas Storage Foundation stop working when updating the system to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.3?

Issue

When having a Red Hat Enterprise Linux installation, version 6.2 or earlier, and having Veritas Storage Foundation installed, updating to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.3 causes modules like vxodm, fdd, vxportal and vxfs to stop loading and errors like
