The cman init service fails to start with "Cannot find node name in cluster.conf" and "Unable to get the configuration" in a RHEL 6 High Availability cluster

Issue

  • When I run service cman start, it fails with "Cannot find node name in cluster.conf" and "Unable to get the configuration", even though the configuration is fine and was copied from another cluster that is working
  • cman fails to start and cant find the node name
# service cman start
