Satellite upgrade from 5.4 to 5.6 fails with "Transaction Check Error"

Issue

  • Trying to update Satellite 5.4.1 using yum to 5.5. received below error.

    Transaction Check Error:
  file /usr/share/java/jta.jar from install of jboss-transaction-1.0.1-api-5.0.1-2.9.ep5.el5.noarch conflicts with file from package geronimo-specs-compat-1.0-0.M2.2jpp.12.x86_64
  • Steps are:
    • Delete old satellite cert
    • Generate new 5.5 cert
    • yum update --exclude=kernel*
