Why the 'atq' or 'at -l' commands do not list my job on RHEL5?

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • I have a script I but in batch with command:
    "at now -f /root/scripts/my_job"

I am provided the job number and can verify that by looking at the .SEQ file in /var/spool/at. Last night I needed to cancel the job and resubmit it but when I used the atq command it would not display it running but I know it was by the output of the log file. I had to perform multiple ps commands to find the PID to kill so the job would stop.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
  • at command
