Issue

  • Unable to enable the repository Red Hat Enterprise Linux Atomic Host (Trees)
  • Trying to enable the repository Red Hat Enterprise Linux Atomic Host (Trees) gives the following error.
{} are not valid substitutions for /content/dist/rhel/atomic/7/7Server/x86_64/ostree/repo. No valid metadata files found for /content/dist/rhel/atomic/7/7Server/x86_64/ostree/repo
  • Trying to enable repository on Satellite fails with are not valid substitutions for /repository/path. No valid metadata files found for /repository/path.

Resolution

  • In case this is happening for repository which were available for sync then contact Red Hat Technical Support to check if there is any issue with CDN else this is informative message telling repository is not available for sync.

Root Cause

  • The repository Red Hat Enterprise Linux Atomic Host (Trees) wont be available in the Satellite UI as provisioning an atomic host is not Satellite supports yet until v6.2.
  • If enabling repository fails with error as below then its not available on CDN for sync.
