cinder-volume service down becasue ntp

Issue

  • Kilo environment configured with multiple cinder service for different block storage backends. Previously, cinder service-list shows all the service as up. But after one cinder volume service restart, some of the services are down.

  • cinder service-list shows down services because ntp time is out of sync

Environment

  • Red Hat OpenStack 10.0 (RHOSP)
  • Red Hat OpenStack 9.0 (RHOSP)
  • Red Hat OpenStack 8.0 (RHOSP)
  • Red Hat OpenStack 7.0 (RHOSP)
