RHEL 6 CUPS Web interface issues in Internet Explorer when adding printer
Issue
- When I open the CUPS Web tool and try to add a new printer my browsers gets stuck at 'Looking for printers'. When I try the same but then with Firefox instead of Internet Explorer, everything works fine.
- The web interface gets stuck when on the 'Add Printer' page. The "Looking for printers..." icon not stops rotating and only one "Other Network Printers:" is found.
- CUPS admin frontend doesn't work in QtWebKit based browsers
- The CUPS web interface is functioning now, but it does not display the pages correctly. When I add a printer, it shows four "add a printer" screens.
- Running the CUPS Web tool with Internet Explorer fails when trying to add a new printer. It keeps telling me "Looking for printers" and the page layout is wrong (at top of page "
--CUPS-MULTIPART Content-Type: text/html;charset=utf-8" appears). After every automatic refresh the page is extended, but it should have been merged with the old data displayed. Trying the same with Firefox works fine! It seems it's not compatible with IE. - We updated the cups-daemon to version cups-1.4.2-67.el6.x86_64, and now we have a problem with the website display in Internet Explorer (9 and 11). We are missing one button while adding or editing a printer. In Firefox the button also isn't there, but comes after approximately 30 seconds.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6.2 - 6.6
- cups-1.4.2-48.el6_3 through cups-1.4.2-67.el6
- Internet Explorer Web Browser
