Chrome gives Net:ERR_CERT_INVALID with internal CA signed certificate used for SSL

Issue

  • Chrome is giving Net:ERR_CERT_INVALID

  • My SSL server certificate says when viewing in Windows:

    This certificate is intended for the following purpose(s): 
  - Ensures software came from software publisher
  - Protects software from alteration after publication

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 6
  • SSL connector
