RHEL: virsh unable to start VM

Issue

  • Unable to start VM using virsh.
  • It is looking for a disk image file that does not exist.

When starting a VM using virsh, the following error appears:

# virsh start <NAME>
error: Failed to start domain <NAME>
error: Unable to allow access for disk path /var/lib/libvirt/images/<DISK IMAGE>: No such file or directory

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
