How can I disable the sbd shared-storage watchdog daemon in a RHEL 7 High Availability cluster?

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • I set up sbd in my pacemaker cluster, but then decided to go in a different direction, so I needed to remove it from the configuration. If I disable sbd, set have-watchdog=false and then restart the cluster, pacemaker fails immediately after starting with "no watchdog device configured"
[root@rhel7-node1 ~]# pcs cluster start --all
rhel7-node1.example.com: Starting Cluster...
rhel7-node2.example.com: Starting Cluster...
[root@rhel7-node1 ~]#
