32-bit system recognizes only 3GB of memory
Issue
- After upgrading the kernel, it only shows 3.1GB of memory instead of 4GB installed on the system.
$ uname -a
Linux hostname 2.6.9-67.0.7.EL #1 Wed Feb 27 04:37:11 EST 2008 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux
- 32-bit non-PAE kernel
- 4+GB RAM
