Multipath map creation fails with EMC CLARiiON devices with kernel error "emc: Invalid failover mode" in RHEL 6
Issue
- I do not see any of the LUNs from my EMC CLARiiON in
multipath
output kernel
anddevice-mapper
errors seen whenmultipath
attempts to map CLARiiON devices:
Aug 10 10:53:10 localhost kernel: sd 0:0:1:4: emc: detected Clariion CX4-120, flags 0
Aug 10 10:53:10 localhost kernel: sd 0:0:1:4: emc: Invalid failover mode 0
Aug 10 10:53:10 localhost kernel: sd 0:0:1:4: emc: not attached
Aug 10 10:53:10 localhost kernel: device-mapper: table: 253:10: multipath: error attaching hardware handler
Aug 10 10:53:10 localhost kernel: device-mapper: ioctl: error adding target to table
- During installation of the RHEV-H server I can see the LUNs exposed to the RHEV-H node. But once the node is registered with the RHEV-M server and I try to create a storage domain, I do not see any of the LUNs listed when selecting the Type Fiber Channel
Environment
