Why do I see "No application context active" exception when making a WebServices / MDB / Remote call in Seam?

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • Webservices / MDBs or Remote calls are throwing "No application context active" or "No event context active" in Seam.

  • There is a stateless web service class and a webmethod which calls another bean service to do the job.  The wsdl is generated and we can call the webmethod for a php application.  The problem is when we attempt to create the service instance in the web method we have a : "No application context active" exception.

Environment

  • JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP)

    • 4.2

    • 4.3

    • 5
  • Seam 2
