Why can't "queue_if_no_path" feature of device mapper multipath be disabled?

The multipath configuration feature
queue_if_no_path
cannot be disabled. This can be confirmed by looking atmultipath -ll
output and it is seen thatfeatures="1 queue_if_no_path"
