RHEV: VM paused, cannot resume
Issue
- Found VM in paused state
- Unable to get it running again
In vdsm log, the following can be seen when trying to resume the VM:
org.ovirt.engine.core.vdsbroker.vdsbroker.VDSErrorException: VDSGenericException: VDSErrorException: Failed to ResumeBrokerVDS, error = internal error: unable to execute QEMU command 'cont': Resetting the Virtual Machine is required, code = -32603
In libvirt/qemu log, the following can be seen at the time the VM was paused:
KVM: unknown exit, hardware reason 31
And in /var/log/messages or dmesg:
