Issue

  • netperf doesn't achieve expected bandwidth even to localhost
  • When netperf is run between identical systems with 40Gb interfaces, a limit of 20 Gb/s is observed in transfer speeds.
  • The issue can also be observed when running netperf via the loopback interface using the IP 127.0.0.1.
  • Network bandwidth tests capped at 20 to 25 gigabit per second
