Process and rule designing, execution and reporting capabilities offered with BRMS and BPMS 6 products

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • Are the current offerings of BRMS 6 product capable of delivering to the following objectives, or some of them are only available with BPMS 6?
    1) design, change on the fly and version rule assets in the form of guided Decision Tables, drls, etc, by an Analyst user
    2) design, change on the fly and version simple business process workflows using BPMN2 which will contain rule tasks already created by an Analyst user
    3) execute these business processes using the REST API that Business Central should provide
    4) Ability to test changes to rules assets or BPM workflows, e.g. simulate a BPMN2 process having a rule task so that a user like Analyst will be able to test the process and it's constituent rule task for any error etc. Something like a JUnit test.
    5) scope of creating forms for the Business Process so that Analyst users or other users could execute the workflow from the Business Central UI itself
    6) The Dashboard component would be used mainly for reporting purposes

P.S. change "on the fly" implies , for a scenario where a version 1.0 of a BPMN2 process exists which has rule tasks in it. Now the expectation is in order to change/update the process or it's rule tasks and deploying a version 1.1 of the process should take place without any downtime to version 1.0.
