Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • We have a mirrored logical volume and need to remove one PV from the logical volume.

     --- Logical volume ---
      LV Name /dev/oravg/oralv
      VG Name oravg
      LV UUID oXzD0c-e7Tq-ZDAx-Uqdc-Xl8w-1Jxd-8e1awA
      LV Write Access read/write
      LV Status available
      # open 1
      LV Size 29.90 GB
      [...]

      --- Physical volumes ---
      PV Name /dev/emcpowere
      PV UUID 8CK9iK-Vg04-Gg2L-Pec2-n2hn-2xN3-PsrOAA
      PV Status allocatable
      Total PE / Free PE 7679 / 23

      PV Name /dev/emcpoweray
      PV UUID elVCYt-Y4y0-eTQ3-8D4D-J9cj-KVwT-3c1eAa
      PV Status allocatable
      Total PE / Free PE 7679 / 24

We need to break mirroring and remove one of the two Physical volume /dev/emcpoweray without any data loss. Please suggest how to do this change.
