Can we continue to use "chronyd" for Oracle Database workloads? Are there any recommendations around this?
Issue
- RHEL7 will be used to host Oracle 11g and 12c databases. In the past we have used ntpd and configured slewing ( -x option to ntpd).
- On RHEL7 we are using the default chronyd as ntp client. Is this a supported configuration when used with Oracle 11g and 12c ?
- How can we add slewing support to chronyd?
Environment
- RHEL 7.1
- Oracle Database
- chronyd
