PDF files aren't being printed in landscape orientation in RHEL

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • Users are unable to use lp or lpr with "-o landscape" to print to network printers. PDFs print portrait on upper half of page and cut off.
  • When I send a landscape document to the printer (Printer Model: Generic PCL5e), it prints portrait.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6
  • Common Unix Printing System (CUPS) 1.4.2
  • The printer paper size does not match the document size
