applications linked to libpcrecpp.so.0.0.0 crash with undefined symbol error
Issue
- Applications compiled on RHEL 5 and linked to
libpcrecpp.so.0.0.0are failing to run on RHEL 6. -
They crash immediately when starting with an undefined symbol error:
[user@localhost ~]$ ./pcretest ./pcretest: symbol lookup error: ./pcretest: undefined symbol: _ZN7pcrecpp2RE4InitEPKcPKNS_10RE_OptionsE
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6.0 - 6.3
- pcre-7.8-4 or less
