rgmanager fs status check fails with "<device> is not mounted on <mountpoint>" in a RHEL cluster

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • The cluster has reported that filesystems are not mounted and consequently has restarted the service. There is no indication that the filesystems were really unmounted
Jun 20 21:02:10 node1 clurgmgrd: [21122]: <err> fs:dataFS: /dev/mapper/myvg-mylv is not mounted on /mnt/data
  • fs resources in the cluster fail their status checks if there is a / character in the name.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5 or 6 with the High Availability Add On
  • rgmanager
  • A cluster service in /etc/cluster/cluster.conf containing one or more fs resources
