Getting "Error fallocating extra space : Operation not supported" error while extending gfs2

Issue

  • I am getting the error Error fallocating extra space : Operation not supported while trying to extend the gfs2 filesystem but I can see filesystem is being extended. Could you let me know that I can ignore this message?

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 5 (with the Resilient Storage Add Ons)
  • Red Hat High Availability Cluster with 2 or more nodes
  • GFS2 filesystem that needs to be grown in size with gfs2_grow.
  • Kernel must be prior to kernel-2.6.18-308.el5.
  • gfs2-utils package must be gfs2-utils-0.1.62-31.el5 or later.
