ActiveMQ Network Bridge fails when using jaasDualAuthenticationPlugin

Solution In Progress - Updated -

Environment

  • JBoss A-MQ 6.2.0

Issue

If a network bridge is to be established to another broker's SSL transport as in

<networkConnector duplex="true" name="to-B"  uri="static://(ssl://otherHost:61616)" >

and the other broker is configured to use the jaasDualAuthenticationPlugin as in

<jaasDualAuthenticationPlugin configuration="activemq-domain" sslConfiguration="activemq-ssl-domain"/>

then the network bridge will fail.

Note the network connector does not set a username and password but is supposed to be authenticated via its SSL certificate.

Resolution

Update to JBoss A-MQ 6.2.1.
Alternatively authenticate the network bridge via username and password as opposed to the source broker's SSL certificate by configuring

<networkConnector duplex="true" name="to-B"  uri="static://(ssl://otherHost:61616)" userName="admin" password="admin">
