Getting error while taking a snapshot : semid XXXX: semop failed for cookie XXXX
Issue
- Taking a snapshot fails with the semop related error
$ lvcreate -n lvol0 -l 256 -s /dev/datavg/u2
/dev/datavg/lvol0: not found: device not cleared
Aborting. Failed to wipe snapshot exception store.
semid 3375117: semop failed for cookie 0xd4de00e: incorrect semaphore state
Failed to set a proper state for notification semaphore identified by cookie value 223207438 (0xd4de00e) to initialize waiting for incoming notifications.
