Why does the script /usr/bin/test get executed when user does login in csh ?

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • If a world executable file/script by the name test is created under /usr/local/bin and try to switch to a user who has csh as default shell, the test file gets executed automatically.
  • This is the case only with any file named test under /usr/local/bin.
  • If the name is changed to any other name, it does not get executed.
