Does Red Hat bind package include the newly introduced "rndc sync" functionality to allow dumping of pending changes in a dynamic zone to disk without a freeze/thaw cycle?
Issue
- Back Port of Bind 9.9 for RHEL 6.
- Bind 9.9 introduces new "rndc sync" functionality to allow dumping of pending changes in a dynamic zone to disk without a freeze/thaw cycle.
- Bind is caching dynamic zone updates causing intermittent DNS issues where records are removed and added multiple times in a short time period (when automated provisioning is used to remove and recreate RHEL servers).
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.6
- (Request for Feature Enhancement) RFE for rndc (dns)
