Print job does not go to specified tray with non-standard paper size

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • I have a custom paper size of 7"x8". I am trying to configure the printer, but I am having trouble setting up the tray 2 for the printer. I print the document using the command "lp -d abc -o PageSize=Custom.7x8in -o InputSlot=Tray2 /etc/fstab". There is 7x8" paper in tray 2. The printer printed from Tray 1 with 8.5x11" paper.
  • When it sends a job to the printer, which are envelopes, it prompts them to push a button on the printer to print, due to paper size. I have already tried to engage Ricoh on this, but they are not particularly helpful. It did work correctly on a windows server. They print many envelope jobs, so this really slows them down.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6
  • Common Unix Printing System (CUPS) 1.4.2
