Why doesn't hacluster user get created when HA add-on packages installed in RHEL 7?

Issue

  • hacluster user is not created when RHEL 7 HA add on packages are installed.
# yum install pcs fence-agents-all
# systemctl start pcsd.service
# systemctl enable pcsd.service
# passwd hacluster
passwd: Unknown user name 'hacluster'.

# grep hacluster /etc/passwd
No output is shown.

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7 with the High Availability Add On
  • pacemaker-libs
