udev rule provided by third party storage vendor not working

Issue

  • storage vendor provided the following udev rules for setting a custom timeout value for specific type of storage and its not working:

    ACTION=="add", SUBSYSTEMS=="scsi", ATTRS{VENDOR}=="VMware ", RUN+="/bin/sh -c 'echo 190 >/sys$$DEVPATH/timeout'"
    
  • what is the correct rule syntax to use within udev to set a custom device timeout value?
