Issue

  • jboss-cli.sh step fails:

    Caused by: javax.xml.datatype.DatatypeConfigurationException: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: gnu.xml.datatype.JAXPDatatypeFactory

  • Bundle deployment returns ClassNotFoundException: gnu.xml.datatype.JAXPDatatypeFactory error when invoking external Java process:

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Operations Network (ON) 3.3
  • Deployment of provisioning bundle which utilizes the Ant Exec task to execute another Java process
  • The system wide JVM available on the JBoss ON agent host is not compatible with the Java service being executed by the bundle
