Directory Server index files will be updated by existing tombstone record in LDAP database

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • When a LDAP entry is deleted, the corresponding index entry will be deleted as well (assuming an index exists)
  • In replicated environments (or when the USN-Plugin is enabled), the entry won't be removed completely, instead a tombstone record will be created which is also part of the LDAP database
  • Re-running the db2index tool will use this tombstone record to create a new indx entry, although the main object has already been deleted. This should not happen.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux
