How to solve the error capsule-installer conflicts with katello-installer?
Environment
Satellite 6.x
Issue
When upgrading from Satellite 6.0 or Satellite 6.1 Beta for the capsule upgrade the following error is observed:
# yum install capsule-installer
Loaded plugins: product-id, subscription-manager
Resolving Dependencies
--> Running transaction check
---> Package capsule-installer.noarch 0:2.3.17-1.el7sat will be installed

You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
You could try running: rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest
Resolution
You are trying to perform the upgrade for an external capsule server on the satellite server instead of performing it on an external capsule server.
Root Cause
The upgrade procedure for the capsule server mentioned in https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Satellite/6.1/html/Installation_Guide/sect-Red_Hat_Satellite-Installation_Guide-chap-Upgrading_Red_Hat_Satellite_and_Capsule_Server-Upgrading_Red_Hat_Capsule.html is only meant for upgrading an external capsule server not the internal capsule server of the Satellite server.
