Issue

  • Why semanage fails to add context for ports on Red Hat Satellite 6.1?
  • The smanage commands provided with context in section '1.4.6. SELinux Policy on Satellite 6' table 'Table 1.4. SELinux Commands to Change Default Port Assignments' of Red Hat Satellite 6.1 installation guide fails for ports 5646, 5647 & 5000.

    # semanage port -a -t unconfined_service_t -p tcp 5646
/usr/sbin/semanage: Type unconfined_service_t is invalid, must be a port type

    # semanage port -a -t complex_main_port_t -p tcp 5000
/usr/sbin/semanage: Type complex_main_port_t is invalid, must be a port type
