Is EJB client callback supported on JBoss Enterprise Application Platform?
Issue
-
We have a loosely coupled asynchronous service where the client sends a request to server by an EJB call and the response from the back-end services may take long time. In such usage case, stateful EJB and polling method for results is not a scalable design.
-
In Weblogic we can use RMI callback feature to register a callback object when invoking remote EJB, and the EJB server side can use this callback reference to notify client side when the execution is finished. Technical details are described here. Do we have similar functionality in JBoss ?
Environment
