After HBA replacement LUNs are showing as not registered with OS.

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • Replaced the HBA Card and Storage team configured new HBA from Storage perspective. we rebooted the server after server come up the new HBA Configuration looks good from OS side. LUN's from this HBA are visible but we are getting error like LUNs are not registered with OS, as shown below:

# cat /proc/scsi/qla2xxx/2

(Id:Lun)  * - indicates lun is not registered with the OS.

( 0: 1): Total reqs 0, Pending reqs 0, flags 0x0*, 1:0:81 00
( 0: 2): Total reqs 0, Pending reqs 0, flags 0x0*, 1:0:81 00
( 0: 3): Total reqs 0, Pending reqs 0, flags 0x0*, 1:0:81 00
( 0: 4): Total reqs 0, Pending reqs 0, flags 0x0*, 1:0:81 00

  • Above ALL luns are followed by '*' which indicating LUNS are not registered with OS.
