Why am I getting a lot of "blank" entries in the httpd accesslog?
Issue
- I am getting a lot of "blank" entries in the httpd accesslog. Sometimes they are listed in the log in the hundreds, consecutively. Is something configured wrong with httpd? These are a sample.
Seems to always be the server IP address
- - [08/Jul/2015:19:27:05 -0700] "OPTIONS * HTTP/1.0" 200 - "-" "Apache/2.4.6 (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) OpenSSL/1.0.1e-fips mod_fcgid/2.3.9 PHP/5.4.16 mod_wsgi/3.4 Python/2.7.5 (internal dummy connection)"
Various IP address
- - [08/Jul/2015:19:29:18 -0700] "-" 408 - "-" "-"
- - [08/Jul/2015:19:30:03 -0700] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 302 140 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 7_1_2 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/537.51.2 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/7.0 Mobile/11D257 Safari/9537.53"
- What are the entries that are not the dummy connections, the 408 - "-" "-" and the 302 140 "-"?
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux
- Apache
