EJB interceptors do not work on EAP 6 when located in a module

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • There is a custom EJB interceptor defined. If the interceptor is included into EAR archive directly there is no issue. Once moved to a separate global module and removed from EAR archive (proper dependency added) - there is no deployment error, so apparently it is getting recognized, but it never kicks in.
  • My interceptor is not getting invoked when I externalize the interceptor project into a separate jar file (module) that is in jboss/modules directory.

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP)
    • 6
