gpg2: Cannot import RSA-E or RSA-S signed public keys

Issue

  • Cannot import RSA-E or RSA-S signed public keys with gpg2 while it works with gpg
  • gpg2 throws error no valid user IDs
  • gpg2 says: unsupported public key algorithm

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5: gnupg2-2.0.10-6.el5
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6: gnupg2-2.0.14-8.el6
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7: gnupg2-2.0.22-3.el7
