The RHEL6 server is hang due to missing CFS period timer
Issue
- the machine became unresponsive and had to be rebooted
- the hung tasks are detected
- lots of tasks are found in the running state for a long time without making any further progress
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.5
- seen on VMware guests
