Why is the NFS client getting "permission denied" error while mounting the NFS share?

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6

Issue

  • We faced "permission denied" error while mounting nfs share on nfs client machine

Resolution

  • Add insecure option in exports file.

Root Cause

  • In the NFS server's log file there was the error unmatched host as IPPORT_RESERVED value not matched between source and destination server.
