How to create a volume group or rename the default volume group name on GUI Installation of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
Issue
- I created a partition (starts from 128, and ends at 255) before installation, and I wanted to select it on custom partitioning of GUI installation in Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
- And, I created another partition for physical volume of LVM on the same disk.
- But, I could not select those partitions on custom partitioning of GUI installation in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.
- I could click on
Unknownon the menu and it will show the various partitions I created with fdisk, but when I choose any particular one (for example sda1) it shows the details in a grayed out form so I could not specify mount point or device type or file system or name
